So you want to build a brewery control panel? Perhaps nobody has told you how long the wiring takes. It’s not difficult, but it is time consuming. Let’s pick up from part 1 of my build log. Recall we had installed all receptacles, and left a bunch of excess wire in the control panel for future me to take care of.
Doug Edey, the creator of Strangebrew Elsinore has been busy overhauling his popular opensource brewery control software. This update, his largest yet, is a complete redesign of the control interface using Bootstrap 4.
Today when I got home from my day at the University of Guelph as a PhD student, I was excited to see that the final piece required to complete the third revision of my control panel had arrived. I had been missing a 40a SSR (used for element control) due to a mix up in a parts order.
Rather than post a detailed breakdown of my own panel, I decided to put together a build of a slightly leaner and cheaper panel. This one will cost $200-300 depending on your residency. Please read my other post about electrical safety before considering a build of this sort.
